CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates.
CASA volunteers are everyday people in our community who have backgrounds and experiences that are diverse, with the one common factor of having a heart to listen and advocate for children in foster care.
When children are removed from the only home they have ever known and placed in to foster care, they need support and guidance. The dedication and consistency of a CASA volunteer builds hope for the child.
CASAs can attend school meetings to ensure academic support, they meet with the child’s team, and they speak up in court to address progress and concerns as it relates to the individual child’s best interest.
